Boards
I believe that everyone who can should give something back to the community by sitting on a board or committee. I’ve learnt so much from fellow board members over the years, and hope that I’ve helped the organisations too.
At present, I am:
- Chairman of Gigbeth, Birmingham
- Trustee of Motionhouse
- Council member of Spitalfields Music, London
- Member, Advisory Group, Common Purpose West Midlands
I’m also involved in Birmingham’s Big City Plan, a masterplan initiative to set the agenda for my home city for the next 20 years; am a member of Birmingham City Council’s People’s Panel; and a regular blogger for The Birmingham Post.
I’ve been the treasurer of the British Horn Society, was a founding Director of Birmingham Professional Diversity, and am a former Chairman of Birmingham Future. I’ve also sat on the Midlands panel for the Queen’s Awards for Voluntary Service, was a director of Birmingham Forward, and helped to set up The Birmingham Post Power 50.
