Work
I’m the co-founder of Indigo Ltd, a boutique marketing and fundraising consultancy which increases income and impact for the creative industries. I’ve worked with arts, heritage and cultural organisations, as well as higher education and funding agencies, and have been privileged to meet some extraordinary people who are geniunely changing the world. Most of my work is around marketing and fundraising, and I have a particular interest in fundraising from individuals through deepening engagement and dialogues, often through digital media and technology.
An erstwhile hornplayer, prior to consultancy I worked in a variety of roles in the music business, most recently as Director of Communications for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. My work there on customer relationship management, diversifying audiences and rebranding the CBSO received world-wide interest, and has since been used as case studies in many leading journals and universities.
In addition to consultancy, I’m a regular trainer and speaker on marketing, branding and fundraising matters. Recent speaking engagements have seen me working across the UK, the Middle East, the Czech Republic, Austria, Finland and France.
In 2004 I was elected as a fellow of the British American Project, an initiative designed to establish stronger trans-Atlantic relationships across both public and private sectors, and in 2008 was one of only twelve women in The Birmingham Post’s Power 50. In 2009, I was proud to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA).
